indeed, I'm a geek. to be precise: a unix geek.
The major geek aspect of my life is the IT-company, bytemine, that I have with my friend Holger. Holger
also has been running hazardous.org with me for the last four years.
my keys (gpg, ssh) - yes, I do prefer gpg-signed/-encrypted mail.

I advocate BSD Operating Systems, personally I mostly run OpenBSD and FreeBSD systems.
Besides OpenBSD I naturally run Apple's Mac OS X on my powerbook.
Until recently I was highly involved around the developement at OpenDarwin.org, where I contributed to various projects. These range from DarwinPorts to my last major point of interest, the OpenDarwin-releases. Besides the developement, I also maintained ftp://ftp.bay13.net/pub/OpenDarwin a german, darwin-related Mirror, rozinante.opendarwin.org, the x86-development box and do PR-work. More on OpenDarwin-related work can be found in the archive of my OpenDarwin page.
In case you care, here are screenshots of my OS X desktop and of my OpenBSD workstation.
There is another screenshot with xglobe running the OpenDarwin map.
If you care to see, what I'm doing on a saturday morning, this screenshot will tell. (PDF)
Here one shot, with the US-part of the map.
Besides BSD and Darwin, I'm highly interested in 802.11 networks and am likely one of the few unix guys around that also digs things like xml, xslt, java. Every now and then I write as a freelance author for german unix magazines. See my companies webpage for a list of publications.
I'm also one of the newsadmins on the server news.cid.net.
A few years ago (sometime in 2000/2001 to be precise) there was this hype on the net about all your base are belong to us (Link to Wikipedia explaining more). Since then I kept the following three flash animations on my site. I've found them back then on the net:
regular All your base
Mr. T vs. the Cats
All your base smurf action
There's also a 'Calvin and Hobbes' with the All your base-storyline.
The matrix-story reworkd. Mirrored from http://unix.rulez.org/~calver/pictures/matrix/.
parody of matrix
For my other projects, check my realm at bytemine.
